For Practitioners Trigger PRO and BLSTM in your practice
Trigger PRO is so good at the hardest manual work that practitioners often choose it for their practice: physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and athletic trainers.
It is made for the hardest part of manual therapy: points that are hard to reach, positions that are hard to keep stable, and holds that tire the hands. Your assessment and your technique stay yours. The tool carries the load.
In your practice
How Trigger PRO fits your sessions
Two levers joined by a tension strap, worn on both hands. Each hand braces against the other through the strap, so deep pressure goes through the tool instead of your thumbs.
- How muchx2 force leverage
- The levers double the force you put in, delivered through the tip. Deep pressure takes a fraction of the grip effort, whatever the size of your hands.
- WhereTwo steady points
- Two attachments converge on the target from both sides, so the contact stays on dense or uneven tissue.
- Which wayFree to move
- Compression, glide along or across the fibres, and contact held while your client moves.
- How longWorn on the hands
- The load comes off your thumbs and wrists, so a long hold stays steady and your last session of the day matches the first.
The mechanics, step by step: How Trigger PRO works
Physical therapists
Sustained compression without loading your thumbs
Some holds are harder than the rest: a deep point at an awkward angle, a position where it is hard to stay stable, a compression you need to keep steady for a full minute. Trigger PRO was built for those holds.
Where it fits in your session
Use it as one part of your session, alongside your own assessment, mobility work and exercise. Trigger point compression, broad compression, and contact held during active movement are the three ways most physical therapists start.
Trigger PRO and IASTM
BLSTM, the method taught with Trigger PRO, is instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization done with a bilaterally leveraged tool. Most IASTM works with one edge stroked along the skin. With Trigger PRO, two attachments converge on the target from both sides, so the pressure stays stable and focused. It sits alongside your IASTM tools and training.
Scope
Who to use it with, and why, stays your clinical judgment, within your scope of practice.
Massage therapists
Deep, steady holds with less strain on your hands
The longest holds, the deepest points, the last client of the day: Trigger PRO is made for the hardest part of the job.
- Your thumbs stay out of it. The pressure sits in your palm and the back of your hand.
- Both hands work together. Two levers, one tension strap: each hand braces against the other, so the contact stays steady through the hold.
- You still feel the tissue. Rigid aluminium passes the feel back to your hands.
Where massage therapists use it
Deep tissue work on large muscle groups, focal trigger point work, and both sides of the spine at once with Bilateral Bracketing. Attachments change the contact: Anchor for broad compression, Cone or Silicone-Tip for focal work.
How it compares with a thumb saver
A thumb saver moves the load from your thumb to your palm. Trigger PRO does that too, then links both hands, so you lean on two contact points instead of balancing on one.
Getting started
Start with one region and one setup. Your hands will reach for old habits for a few sessions; that is normal. Quick start walks you through a first setup.
Chiropractors and osteopaths
Controlled soft tissue work, the lever carries the load
Soft tissue work between adjustments often means deep points close to the spine, worked from an awkward side-on position. Trigger PRO links both hands so the pressure stays steady and controlled.
Why two contact points help
With Bilateral Bracketing, one attachment sits on each side of the spine and both converge as you lean in. You lean on two hands instead of balancing on one, and your thumbs stay out of it.
Getting started
Begin with the included Anchor attachments for broad compression, then move to the Cone or Silicone-Tip for focal trigger point work.
Athletic trainers
Steady pressure on large, muscular athletes
Big quads, glutes and calves take a lot of hand force to work deeply, and a training room day has a lot of them. Trigger PRO puts that load on the tool, not your thumbs.
On the table and on the sideline
Use Bilateral Bracketing on symmetrical regions, Anchoring for one-sided work, and hold contact while the athlete moves. The 30 cm strap extension in the box opens wider setups for glutes and hips.

Spare your hands
Practitioner longevity
Hands-on work loads the thumbs, wrists and back day after day. With Trigger PRO you lean in with body weight, wrists straight, and the pressure goes through the tool, so your technique stays the same at the end of a long hold.
In a 2020 survey of 361 US orthopaedic PTs, 38.5% reported an injury they attributed to manual therapy (Cornwell et al., JMMT). See what the research says about strain in manual therapists.
